Crunchtime

I was actually awarded a seat to today’s poker tournament.  Why?  I wouldn’t know.  I finished second to last of 9 players yesterday.  However, as much as I would have wanted to play and get a chance to win a part of the 2M in prizes, my priorities had to come first.

A Night of Poker

Was invited by Adam Mordo to attend this pokerstars event (take note: It’s not POKE HER k?) yesterday at the Metro Card Club in Metrowalk.  I must  say having grown up with russian poker, mahjong and pusoy dos (a local poker), I found the regular game kind of boring and was not exactly expecting much excitement that night. Back it leads

The rays of dawn touch dew kissed leaves.

Eternal arias pierce the darkness. 

Journey begins through mindless dreams.

But tis not a choice for the stricken.

Through roads that bend and wind we travelled.

Searching, seeking, warring, battling,

Doubts, pervade like a lingering shadow.

Blackening an already blurred horizon.

Weary of all that life has to throw,

Feigning inner strength that lies in the soul.

Sunday Morning

Whew, it was a most stressing week last week.  Good thing I came out of it with all my marbles intact.  As I try to settle down in this otherwise dispassionate disposition, the demands of the office seem neverending.  In the greater scheme of things, this should be viewed in a grateful perspective.  More work means more revenues.  Next week, meetings left and right again.  After making that offer that must’ve been too tempting for my prospective list, the meetings were set for this week. Early Morning Ramble

It’s 4:30am and here I am typing away at this ungodly hour.  I normally am awake by this time, but only because I have to get Bella prepared for school.  This past week, maybe out of exhaustion, I haven’t been waking up during my usual hours and thus had to rush somewhat to avoid making Bella late for school.  Ironically, Bella doesn’t have school today and here I am wide awake.  The irony of it all.  (more…)

Was asleep a couple of days ago beside the kiddies, when I felt the familiar little body lying  down on top of my chest.  It has been customary for Igor to do this, so I paid no heed and just let him stay there.  Afterall, Bella used to do that and maybe he was feeling a little cold. (more…)

Escape

Darting from one pillar after the other, the Colonel looks left and right to check his surroundings and make sure that he has not been seen.  Such a covert operation is very important to the cause.  “We must not be found out!” He thinks to himself. He looks at the other side of the spectrum and sees the young daughter of a local.  He signals for her to shush.  He is around here somewhere and the Colonel had  no wish to get caught. (more…)

Falling into place

There is a big possibility that my son will be staying with me again for a whole week!  Yeeeey!  I’m excited.  Bought stuff for him already and will pick him up tomorrow morning.  

Yes, everything in my life is falling into place.  That’s not to say that stressors are absent, but generally speaking I have a lot to be thankful for.  I guess, it pays to be grateful for what you have in times of stress. 

Weekend Update

Such a peaceful weekend.  Kids weren’t with me so I took it nice and slow.  Went inside my cave and stayed there the rest of the three day weekend.  (more…)
