Busted
June 16, 2008Two weekends ago, I went with my friends to Fontana. Now, Bella (my daughter) loves the place. In fact, she has been badgering me for us to stay there for a couple of days. Anyway, my friends, who in a very spontaneous moment, decided to spend an overnight there. There was only one problem….the kids weren’t with me.
I could’ve have asked to pick them up earlier, but the following weekend was father’s day and I wanted both kids to be with me. Plus the fact, that it was the last week of vacation and I’m sure ex would love to spend the last remaining days of the summer with the kids.
Anyway, I decided to go shrouded by secrecy and had the a great time at that, taking picture after picture.
Yesterday, Bella, was viewing the pictures inside the digicam. Foolish me, forgot to delete them and she saw them.
Bella: (in an almost growling voice) Daaad, I know this place. When were these pictures taken?
Ragging myself for being so stupid but at the same time having a timely spark of genius.
Me: Oh those were taken a long time ago. (No sweat. I’ll pull this off yet.)
Bella: Oh I see. (as she continued to scan the pictures.)
Being so smug at getting away with it, I decided to add to the story as a pure act of bravado.
Me: Well, you weren’t born yet when that took place.
(of course underestimating the fact that the digicam was non-existent at that time and that she would be too young to put two and two together.
Well lo and behold, I saw her zooming one of the gang pics that had me in it when she blurted out……
Bella: Hey WAIT A MINUTE! I know those sunglasses!! DAAAAAAD! We only bought that at start of the year!!
Me: Uhm………..erm………..hehe……
As she gave me the evil eye.
Sigh…….really got to be careful around that girl now. Her mental abilities have grown as fast as she does. tsk, tsk, tsk.

She may be a kid, but she’s a female. Careful, females have such amazing nose (or eye?) for liars ;p

Anyway, I will experiment on my daughter and see how I can extract such a gene.

mine too.. she gives me the creeps sometimes.. she picks up things faster now..
