August 27, 2007Yesterday while on our way to go to my mother's house, it suddenly dawned on me that I forgot my cigarettes at home.
Me: Oh CRAP! I forgot my cigarettes!!!!
Bella: AHAH! Hahahahaha! I'm so happy! Hahahahaha!
Oh yeah,
Oh baby
Oh yeah.
Me: Well, I can always buy a new pack and lighter ya know!
Bella: Awwwwww! Dad, why do you have to smoke?
Me: Bella, same thing as why the sun has to shine every morning.
Bella: But Dad! It's dangerous for your health.
Me: (murmuring) so is too much exercise but that doesn't get a lot of bad press now does it?
Bella: What?
Me: Oh nuffin! Bella, just to put things in perspective okay? why do you need to play? watch cartoons? be a smart aleck?
Bella: Cause I'm a kid. But you're an adult. And Dad, smoking kills. Igor and I won't see you if you die.
(At this point, I have been cornered once again, BY A SEVEN YEAR OLD AT THAT!) Sheeesh!, I feel like I have a wife again!
Bella: Well, I'm happy that you forgot your cigarettes.
Me: OH YEAH?
Bella: YEAH!
Me: OH YEAH?
Bella: YEAH! **and she starts hitting my arm** That's your punishment. With a corresponding Hmph! after.
Me: Well, I can punish you as well ya know.
Bella: Why?
Me: Cause you hit me.
Bella: You'll hit me back?
Me: Nope but I sure as hell can ground you.
Bella: You'd do that?
Me: Only if we don't drop the subject.
Bella: Okay, look it's the chinese palace!
As I continue driving.
I think it was Niccolo Machiavelli, who once said that striking fear into those who would oppose you will silence them. Am not particularly sure it went like that but I do know it was something to that effect.
HELL, I WAS CORNERED OKAY??? Whaddya guys expect me to do? Get bummed out by my seven year old?

:))… tinalo ka ng anak mo! hahaha!
For me, striking fear to a kid will do him or her no good. It will make her feel inferior later on in her life. Gotta learn from experience…
Tama nga ang kasabihan, that children don’t lie… hehe

Hahahaha… This is funny…
Posted by cris at August 27, 2007, 9:22 amListen to your kiddo… She’s a very smart girl. Knew already what’s wrong and what’s right. I remember one advertisement sometime ago that says “Kung ano ginagawa ng nakakatanda, gagayahin ng mga bata…” hehehe
Good thing your kid knows how to filter out those bad things/habit that she sees in you…
Peace Mr. V!!!
